Clara Rose

Picture
Clara Rose has been making music  her whole life, from childhood living room concerts to choral concerts to underground jazz clubs. Rose began composing for violin at age 10, drawing inspiration from the vivid landscape of British Columbia and her community in Vancouver. In live performances Clara loops layers of intricate, funky fiddle grooves and pensive looping melodies, with jazz, Celtic, Balkan, and Scandinavian folk heavily influencing her sound.
Rose has studied with Trent Freeman Oliver Schroer, Daniel Lapp, Jaron Freeman-Fox, Anne Lindsay to name a few. In 2018 Clara Rose was selected as one of 16 young string players to participate in the Acoustic Music Seminar in Savannah, GA, directed by Mike Marshall and Julian Lage.
Clara currently performs with Canadian bands Twisted Hazel, The Burying Ground, East Van Jug Band, cozy, and Surprise! Surprise!
In addition to her musical pursuits, Rose also performs as a clown, fire spinner and  acrobatic stilt dancer!
Clara Rose is one of Vancouver’s most distinguished young  performers. Exploring new ground while staying connected to classical, jazz and folk roots, her music has a flare of variety and youthful enthusiasm that will get your toes a-tappin’ and bring a smile to your face.
