Known for his enrapturing performance style, Jeff Faragher is a natural entertainer. With extensive training and experience as a classical cellist he is the Kootenay's only professional cellist and one of the regions most active performers. Jeff plays regularly as a soloist with Symphony orchestras throughout western Canada in addition to playing in several chamber ensembles. Jeff Faragher now lives and works out of Nelson BC and is available as a soloist, chamber musician and Orchestral player. He has extensive experienece in Chamber music and Early music as those were his focuses during his time at McGill University. At the University of Alberta Jeff began a Doctor of Music focusing on contemporary styles on the cello. This lead him down the path of using his jazz training to create new styles of playing cello in many different genres including Celtic, gypsy-jazz, middle-eastern, tango, and flamenco. Jeff feels at home in almost any ensemble and brings his energy to the mix. In addition, Jeff has worked with many festivals across Western Canada and regularly gives master classes to students of all instruments and ages. First Time Cello
Make your cello dream come true-- finally, you can learn to play the evocative instrument who's beautiful sounds have been haunting you since last fiddle camp. No playing experience needed, but you will need to borrow, buy or rent a cello!

Advanced Cello & Chops
An advanced cello class exploring everything the complete folk cellist will need in their tool box, from chopping techniques and rhythmic patterns (groove!) and of course some great fiddle tunes that really shine on the cello. All served up with a dash of great technique and total inspiration!
Class Time: 1:30
Beginner/Intermediate Cello & Chops
An introduction to folk cello, focusing on learning how to create a groove, adapt simple fiddle tunes to cello, and play with great technique. Some playing experience required (cello, viola or fiddle), and bring your own cello! You can rent one if needed (please see FAQ at www.fiddleworks.ca)
